Did you know that May 15th is recognized as the International Day of Families? During this global pandemic, the love and support of our families have never been more important. Faced with this type of crisis, older adults are experiencing higher levels of stress, social isolation, and fear.
Here at the Area Agency on Aging 1-B, we are focused on helping intergenerational families and caregivers keep their older loved ones safe and independent both now and in the future. To celebrate The International Day of Families, will you honor this connection by making a donation between May 11th and June 15th?
The Area Agency on Aging 1-B was able to help Lula stay in the home she'd known and wanted to be in. "First and foremost, I would like to thank my mom's AAA 1-B supports coordinator for being such an awesome and caring case manager. She was always just a phone call away. My mom and I would also like to thank the AAA 1-B for being such a great support system for her. In September, my mother suffered some hardship due to the loss of my dad (who also had services through AAA 1-B.) We made a phone call to AAA 1-B and they have been more than a blessing. With this we are AND always will be forever grateful for the services that you all provided." Lula P. ( on right) LaTisha P.
Tom has been receiving Meals on Wheels since 2016 and is especially grateful for the holiday meals he receives on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. “To the Meals on Wheels and Holiday Meals on Wheels staff. Thank you for all of your support and friendship. I consider you all an extension of my family. If you could let everyone know how much the quality of the food is appreciated! Probably the most important thing is the giving of their time on a daily basis and even on Holidays. They make the deliveries and they check on our well-being. I also would be remiss if I didn't mention the cooperation between the different youth groups that make the greeting cards or sign them. That always puts a smile on my face. Again thank you all for everything.”
Again, our mission is simple but all we do is complex. We need your gift today to support our annual fund. Gifts to our annual fund provide us with the flexibility to further our mission wherever it is needed most. Your gift helps us withstand unexpected programmatic deficits, changing capital, operational and staffing needs and allows us to fund meals on wheels to homebound seniors when they are alone on holidays. We are busy preparing for the future while still meeting the current needs of our older adults.
